October 21, 2006 outside a light rain drizzled down ~ inside the area  was filled with Music & Passion. .

Betty Sadowski with two of her Barry Buddies braved the elements to be in the audience for this historical concert.  History making for two reasons - this was Barry's second full concert since double hip surgery to repair torn labrum cartilage; and just a few hours earlier he had broken QVC's sales record with a live performance that sold more than 43 THOUSAND copies of Greatest Songs of the Sixties.

Betty submitted over sixty photographs. . .hmmm, I see a trend here.. . .Greatest Songs of the Sixties.  . .sixty great pictures of a guy in his sixties.

(With a nod to our friends using dial-up connections we have created multiple slideshows.  Please use the link below to work your way through the night. . . )

Betty included some of her thoughts on that night to bring the pictures to life:

The stage was huge....and high! The stage was covered by a white curtain all the way around and there were huge jumbo-trons set up for those in the back of the house.

The lead up to the show was the same as it has been and when it got the familiar part when you just KNEW Barry was coming out I could see shadows on the curtain...there were 3 of them and it looked like they had nurse's hats on. Hmmm...I wonder what that means!  Yes, when the curtain was drawn, there he was in all his glory in the wheelchair! What a hoot...singing It's A Miracle with his special lyrics. But damn....he looked good. And I have to admit, he sounded MUCH better than he had on TV in the afternoon on QVC. Thank God for that!

He wore the purple velvet jacket that we've seen in Vegas with black slacks. It was sooo good to see him again after our foiled trip in September...I can barely remember what he was singing or saying! I do remember him doing my favorite Somewhere in the Night...and doing it VERY well, I might add. There was the thigh rubbing and slight hip movement we all know and LOVE! Guess his surgery didn't make him change THAT!

One thing I didn't notice when we walked in was the platform in the center of the stage. When he began singing Moonlight Serenade, the platform rose to stage level. It had a railing around the outside of it. He got on the platform and it lowered to the floor level. He opened the gate on the railing and reached out and invited someone to join him. They both got onto the platform and went back up to stage level and did a little dance. It was so sweet. Then someone came and escorted her off the stage.
