I would just like to say that Mr Manilow has been a knight in shining armour for me .His music has inspired me when I am both happy and sad. I can only thank him for that . I find it very disturbing that employees of The Hilton are making these comments. Is he truly that mean and self-centered or are these people just mad that they can't get close to him. Have the employees been hounding him to the point that Barry had to request to keep the staff away? It has to be hard to be hounded for autographs and pictures all the time. I just saw Barry in concert at the Hilton in Las Vegas...two shows in a row!!! The second night I had a side stage seat in the first row and got to shake his hand while he was singing "New York City Rhythm"! A dream come true!! From the Las Vegas Hilton: Yes, Barry is running us ragged and scared for our jobs. He displays no respect for the people that have to work around him. I wish his fans could see the Real Barry Manilow. His fan base would dwindle very quickly. He has lied on national TV about the pay he is recieving. It's not really that much. He has not filed the showroom since his first week. The Elvis impersonator brought in a bigger audience!

I am an employee at the Las Vegas Hilton wher Barry is performing an extended engagement. You wont belive the 'behind the scenes' garbage we have to out up with from Barry. If he walks into a room...we have to turn our head and eyes. 1 loyal Barry fan ( also an employee) walked up to him during the afternoon hours before the show. Our casino security escorted him off the property and he was fired! They hung sheets in the halls where he walks so he does not have to see any of the little workers around him. Is he god? We cant wait until he leaves!

Don't know if any of you have read Mad About The Girls by British award-winning novelist Francesca Clementis. It has a chapter in the middle of the book called Intermission: Me and Barry Manilow. It tells of how her love for Barry Manilow has been the only constant point of reference in her life. It's moving and funny and the whole book is fabulous. It won an Arts Council of England Writer's Award and I'd recommend it to anyone.

I have been a Barry fan since i was 9 years old.I first saw him was on HBO live at the Greek theater,it was a very good show.I have been collecting almost all have his cds,I tape every show that Barry is on.Barry is a wonderful entertainer.Susie
