30 Years of Music
The charity focus of 2003 was a little different as June 17th drew near and with it the milestone of the BIG 6-0, Manilow's Modems searched for a way to honor the work that has brought us all together.
California Musical Theatre (CMT), a non-profit organization in the capital city of Sacramento, is currently holding a fundraising drive to build a permanent structure, made of Teflon fabric, to stand where the old tent was erected every summer. Inside there will be permanent theatre seating, which will replace the canvas chairs.
Manilow's Modems participated in the CMT's Name-a-Seat campaign. In recognition of Barry's contribution to musicBarry Manilow, 30 Yrs of Music & Memories
Manilow's Modems
has been inscribed on a brass plaque permanently affixed to a theatre seat in the new Wells Fargo Pavilion.

In addition to the plaque on a new chair, Barry will receive a piece of Music Circus history, an original green canvas chair from the summer tent along with detailed information about the theatre and its programs. Included with the delivery is a birthday card bearing good wishes.
Members of Manilow's Modems donated a total of $1,225.00 in roughly six weeks. Any contribution was welcome and all who participated were entered into a raffle for a copy of the paperback book "Barry Manilow" by Tony Jasper. As an added incentive to raise funds those who contributed $25 or more were entered into a second raffle for "The Prince's Trust Oval Mask Stick Pin" designed by Barry. There were also challenges and prizes along the way to the goal.
