THE EASIEST FUNDRAISER WE'VE EVER DONE
THE FOUNDATION FIGHTING BLINDNESS

APRIL/MAY 2002

In June 1999, Barry performed an unforgettable rendition of 'One Voice' "a cappella" at the Foundation Fighting Blindness Humanitarian Dinner at New York City's Waldorf-Astoria to help raise money for this wonderful organization. Now YOU have a chance to win a very rare and special copy of that 'One Voice" CD, but you'll have to keep reading to find out how.

"The Foundation Fighting Blindness is a world-renowned eye research organization that funds over 150 research studies at more than 55 prominent institutions world wide"  This year we will be working to help raise funds for one Barry's favorite charities -- The Foundation Fighting Blindness.

Hosting a Mother's Day Tea is a simple effective way to raise money for The Foundation Fighting Blindness.  This Tea party is unlike any other; you won't need to clean the house for company or 'use the good china'.  As host, you'll mail preprinted "invitations" to your friends and family containing a complimentary tea bag.  Your "guests' are invited to enjoy a cup of tea in their homes on Mother's Day and to make a donation to The Foundation Fighting Blindness.  The Foundation supplies the invitations and tea bags.  All they ask is that you address the envelopes, provide the postage stamps and mail the invitation to friends and family.  If this still sounds like too much work then just hand them out to friends and neighbors, take them to scout meetings or the little games and don't forget your fellow employees.  Of course, if you feel so inclined to make a donation too, please don't hesitate.

This event is a very simple way to help The Foundation in its mission to discover treatments and cures for all retinal degenerative diseases.  It has real potential to raise significant money but needs our support to realize success.

To make this fundraiser even more enticing The Foundation Fighting Blindness has donated a very rare and hard to obtain CD of Barry's live "a cappella" performance in June 1999 which will be raffled off to one lucky Manimodems participant of this fundraiser.

The call went out in late April for members to participate in a new charity fund-raiser.  It came as no surprise that members rallied to the cause, by the end of the month a letter of group participation was sent documenting the success.
